- MIRACLES ALL AROUND -

Where to begin?  So much is happening in such a short span it is almost difficult to keep track of everything.  I think I will start with the best news ever.  A dear friend who was diagnosed with cancer last fall is now cancer free!  Recovery is continuing and I ask all of you to continue to keep her in your prayers.  I thank each and every one of you for all the prayers you offered when I asked way back then.

I also know two other people here in Morro Bay that are each in their own healing process from cancer and leukemia.  I see all these people as inspirations and being very strong and courageous souls.  I feel privileged to know them and I am so grateful they have come into my life.

About a week ago I was walking back home from the RV park and had to stop in the middle of the sidewalk and gaze at the amazing view of the ocean and harbor as the sun was shining on both.  There were wispy clouds, a glow in the air and a gentle breeze as I soaked it in for at least five minutes.  Gratitude again filled me for being here.  I am so fortunate to experience all this joy and so very often.

Since I am about to list my RV for sale I realized I would need the pink slip.  There were two boxes I had put in the closet to go through at some later time.  Well, the time came because I needed the slip.  I had to remove almost all the other items I had shoved into the closet to get to the two boxes, one of which I thought would contain the document in question.

Well, no such luck with discovering the slip, however, what I did come across was incredibly special.  I came  across all of the cards of sympathy and well wishes from friends which I received when my Mom passed in 2010.  I gently handled each one, reading the printed words and the added personal thoughts and wishes of the senders.

Each one was uplifting and well thought out.  Their words were chosen carefully and  were meant to bring peace to my heart.  They were all so special and personal and each card brought back wonderful memories of their caring and thoughtfulness.  I even received a card with personal wishes from each of the four friends at my bank.

This was a special discovery that brought back special feelings of love and warmth and caring.  Had I not been looking for something else and thinking it was in one of those boxes, I would have missed this blessing.  Thank you to all who shared themselves with me at that time.  Thank you, Universe, for giving me the opportunity to relish in the love, warmth and caring from dear friends!

So, there I sat, with near panic setting in because the pink slip was still eluding me.  Where could I have put it?  There was only a two month period between when I purchased the motor home and when I left Auburn on my Adventure.  I have changed things around so much, it could have been just about anywhere.

There was only one thing to do.  Say a prayer to St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost items.

     "Tony, Tony, look around,
something is lost and must be found."

I let it go and figured it would show up eventually.  It took about fifteen minutes.  And then, I was looking in my scheduling calendar book and found myself going in the back where there is a pocket to stick things in and, low and behold, there it was, right where I had put it in August of 2012.

I immediately thanked St. Anthony and smiled the rest of the evening.  More and more I am realizing that everything is perfect and is all taken care of when we simply trust that it is so.  I also realize that responses to my requests and wonderment are occurring much more quickly now.

I am aware that when someone comes to mind, who has been out of my thoughts for a while, there is a reason.  I will either hear from them in a short time or I will contact them only to have them say they were about to contact me.  I love life.  It is so much fun seeing how life plays out its amazing plan.

Tomorrow Kirby, the Corgi, goes home to his person.  Her surgery was successful and she is ready to have her friend home.  Chris and I had our challenges as Kirby became an escape artist by wiggling out of his splint twice.  He is in a make shift splint that hopefully will hold until tomorrow.  He is one amazing little dog with a huge presence and spirit.  He is always good to have around.

This was a near perfect weather weekend for the kite festival.  It was a great day to wash and then hang sheets out on the line.  Sun dried sheets and pillow cases are some of my favorite things.  Now, as evening approaches, the fog is rolling onshore.  The predictions are for mid seventies all week with clear skies day and night.  Did I mention that I love living here?

- EARTH DAY -

Early morning and a glowing Morro Rock from the sun shinning through the clouds in between the rain drops.  This was such a beautiful morning several weeks ago and it is easy to keep coming back to the pictures I took that morning as I was in awe at the beautiful spectacle.  This helps me keep a good perspective as we are now having foggy mornings.

There is little to see in the fog though it can create some very interesting views.  It is quite fun to watch the fog move in and out of the harbor area.  Sometimes it just hangs around the Rock in strange ways and other times there is a huge bank of it which can be seen out in the ocean, just waiting to make its way onshore.

Sometimes it is dense and damp, and develops droplets of moisture on eyelashes and such and leaving one damp and wet after a walk.  And yet other times it is a little higher and the dampness fails to lower thus allowing one to be dry upon returning home from a walk.  Always a mystery.

The movies that are created sometimes use fog to lend an atmosphere of mystery.  Bad guys, scary beings, night time, graveyards and suspense many times are shrouded in fog.  So, I am all for seeing fog as a way of viewing things.  It can hide or put things out of focus, the things we may not be ready to see.  It can, as it lifts and disperses, slowly reveal a hidden item, treasure or gift.

So, today is Earth Day.  A day to celebrate and honor the planet we live on and all its inhabitants and to remember to take good care of it as it is the only one we have.  The saying of Chief Seattle is scattered throughout the internet today:  "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."

I have discovered my 4:00 in the morning wake up bird is a Mocking Bird who has a great many songs to sing.  He/she is very good and most of the songs are lovely to hear.  It is quite comical though when she/he imitates the sounds a Woodpecker makes as it pecks away on a tree.  This definitely causes me to smile.  One can definitely tell it is something other than a real Woodpecker.

I have, on many occasions, been greeted by a Hummingbird buzzing me as I open my door in the mornings.  It stops me in my tracks as the bird hovers deciding where to go.  They are amazing to watch as they dart all over the back yard, which is really my front yard.  Once I get more settled I will take pictures of my new little home.

I am currently pet sitting Kirby, the Corgi.  He is an older dog with special needs which requires picking him up to get outside to do business.  He is completely sweet and puts up  with all of my attention.  He loves laying out on the deck so he can soak in the fresh air.  He sleeps a lot yet knows everything that is going on.  He'll be here probably a week while his person recovers from surgery.  I know he will be glad to be home.

Tomorrow I am taking the motor home to the RV park so I can hook up to water and power and I can do a final clean.  Then someone is coming to look at it that afternoon.  Depending on how that turns out, I will take it to several dealers to see who will give me the fairest price.  Considering its age, it is in great condition.

I will be a bit sad to part with my home on wheels.  It has been a wonderful part of my adventure over these past almost two years.  It has provided shelter, a means for getting from one location to another, a place to fix my meals, entertain, relax and sleep.  It is far easier to drive than I would have imagined, for which I am very grateful.

I have a few things to do on the outside today which do not need water or power to accomplish.  The sun is shining and it is predicted to be windy, so I best get to it.  I still need to keep an eye on Kirby.  So, on with the day.

Hello to my readers in Moldova!!!

- COMPUTERS -

So, I have avoided being on my computer for many days, which is mostly due to my continuing process of putting my new home in order.  Each of these things takes time and I am in the "get things in order" mode at the moment, hence, the computer has taken a back seat to lots of other things to be done.  My apologies to those I have yet to respond to.  It will happen, I promise.

I continue to take the walks to the Rock and along the Embarcadero with an occasional stop at the bakery. I still have the whole suck me in from the street with the aromas thing going on.  Though I am doing much better with my choices and avoiding most of the pastries and sweet items in the shop.  Definitely a challenge.  I am getting a stronger will with all of this.

There have been some amazing sunrises and sunsets and cloud formations during the days and nights.  The rains we had cleaned everything, including the Rock and the air and have really greened up the surrounding hills. We even had some hail one afternoon which is unusual for here,   All of Mother Nature feels happy and healthy and very much alive.  This  rather sums up how I feel being here.

I keep forgetting to mention that this area is a bird sanctuary (or maybe I did and forgot) which explains all the bird sounds and songs I hear on a continuous basis.  This morning around 4:30 I had  a wonderful specimen outside my window (open) singing its little heart out.  I continue to be unable to identify them and if Ann Marie was here she could probably identify them all in a heart beat.  There is a resident woodpecker in the neighborhood and if I close my eyes I think I am in the forests of the mountains.  Pretty cool.

I discovered a small frog attempting to stay warm in some items I had stacked outside on the deck.  He/she really wanted to stay there as I had a difficult time convincing it to leap onto some soil.  I have yet to hear it and Chris tells me they make a very loud sound for how tiny they really are.  We are hoping it she/he will find a spot here and stay.  Bird and frog sounds are a lovely way to go to sleep at night and awaken to in the mornings.

We had some rather warm days here and then some fog that arrived a few days ago.  The fog usually fades by noon and then it is sunny and warm again.  Chris helped me string a clothes line so I can again hang my sheets out to dry.  Yes, air dried sheets tonight!  She is so kind, generous and thoughtful and I will certainly share my winnings  (perhaps the pot at the end of that rainbow) with her.

Remember the wonderful large pile of balancing rocks created by unknown persons?  I believe it was made sometime last year when I was here.  Well, someone complained to the City that it was a safety hazard and I was there to watch the employee make short work of demolishing the amazing structure.

What took many, many hours to construct by many, many people, took only a few minutes by one person with a crow bar to destroy.  This is how it looks today.  Sad. I guess some people feel they are not responsible for or are unable to control their actions.  So, the rest of us have had this incredible piece of art removed from our view.  Millie and I have great discussions about this issue.

And then we are graced with a lovely Great Blue Heron at the waters edge who stood very still while I did my best at capturing his/her elegance.  They appear so stately and royal and are such a joy to see.  Thank you, Universe!!!

- APRIL SLO COAST JOURNAL ARTICLE -

How in the world did it get to be April already?  We are just now getting the much needed and appreciated rain which is keeping the hills green and hopefully adding to all of the surrounding reservoirs.  Thankfully, winter has arrived here.  Something tells me the seasons are a bit confused, or is it me!
